Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condoled the death of the Navsari bus accident victims, which claimed 39 lives.
"Bus accident in Gujarat's Navsari is tragic & deeply upsetting. Condolences to families of the deceased. May the injured recover quickly," he wrote in a tweet.
The death toll rose to 39 in the accident where a State Road Transport Corporation bus fell into Purna River in Gujarat's Navsari district.
The bus, which was reportedly overloaded, was on its way to Unai from Navsari when the mishap took place. The bus was full of passengers. Rescue efforts are on.
