The Navy was on high alert and had been carrying out extensive search operations on Thursday after schoolchildren in Maharashtra's Uran spotted five-six men carrying weapons near INS Abhimanyu base.
The schoolchildren claimed that they noticed some suspicious persons with arms in Raigad's Uran, following which the state police alerted the navy and Coast Guard, which are carrying out combing operations.
Uran is about 50 km from Mumbai, where around 166 people were killed in 2008 when landmarks in the city were attacked by 10 terrorists who came by sea.
It is close to important locations like the Jawaharlal Nehru Port and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.
