Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari's scheduled five-day official visit to India has been cancelled.
Bhandari was scheduled to visit India at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee on May 9.
The President's personal secretary, Bhesh Raj Adhikari, said that she would not visit India on the scheduled date.
The visit has been cancelled due to the recent political developments in the nation and speculations about a change in government.
Bhandari was scheduled to meet her Indian counterpart at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on May 10.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to meet the President the very day.
