New book reveals how Kim Jong II abducted South Korean film-star couple to make North Korean films

Former North Korean dictator Kim Jong II reportedly abducted a famous South Korean movie-star couple and forced them to make movies for North Korea.

The story of Seoul's glamour couple - Choi Eun-Hee and her ex-husband Shin Sang-Ok - who were kidnapped by the North Korean leader is told in 'A Kim Jong Il Production' by Paul Fischer.

The new book relates events so incredible it makes "The Interview," the outrageous comedy that so offended North Korea it launched a hack attack on Sony Pictures, seem entirely fact-based, New York Daily reports.

Kim, who had an obsession for cinema, apparently wanted the couple to make blockbuster movies for North Korea that would win the country awards in the West.

The couple were kidnapped separately and brought to North Korea and were forced to make movies, out of which, one proved to be their ticket out of the country.

Sang-OK's "Pulgasari: The Iron-Eater," where a Godzilla-like creatures rampages through the Korean countryside, pleased Kim so much that he allowed him to establish a film studio in Austria.

The duo later managed to flee to Vienna but the Americans took the couple to Reston, Va., where they spent months being debriefed on the dictator's way, after which the couple relocated to Los Angeles, the report added.
