An extraordinary series of home videos show how the famous tiger from Ang Lee's hit film 'Life of Pi' was brought up.

The Bengal tiger named Jonas, was brought to Canada's Bowmanville Zoo when he was just a few weeks old, but was allowed to go home with his keepers to be fed the required six to eight times a day, the Independent reported.

The videos, which were made in 2008, shows the tiger relaxing in front of the TV, being taught his position in the house's pecking order and learning that a dustbuster is not a toy.

Jonas had died on the operating table, when vets found a previously unknown birth defect which caused his liver to pass through his diaphragm.
