Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Wednesday said that he has briefed Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the documentary made on the 'Nirbhaya' rape case, adding that his force would focus on the criminality of the event.

"I met with the Home Minister and many issues were discussed, amongst them the documentary made on the accused in the Nirbhaya rape case. I told the minister about the FIR which was registered with respect to the documentary, which has been registered under IPC Sections 504, 505(1)(b) and 509 as well as Section 66 of the IT Act," Bassi told mediapersons.

"We are concerned with the criminality of the event. As far as violation of penal laws is concerned, that will be our domain. Violation of the permission granted will be taken care by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as well as by Tihar Jail," he added.

With regards to the documentary, Bassi said that the Delhi Police has got a restraint order for the stay on the broadcast and publication of the film.

"We got a restraint order from the magistrate last night and informed the concerned parties of the same. We have informed BBC and the Indian channels which were preparing to screen the documentary that the court has put a stay on the broadcast and publication of the film, as well as on the uploading of the same on the internet," he said.

The documentary titled 'India's Daughter', includes an interview of Mukesh Singh, who is among the six men accused of gang-raping a 23-year-old girl on December 16, 2012 on board a moving bus.
