Nirupam's statement reflects the bad image of Congress: Lekhi

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Meenamkshi Lekhi on Sunday said that Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam's statement on Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflects the bad image of the Congress.

"What can I say about Nirupam? Congress has come to such a low, which is evident in such statements. It reflects how infamous the Congress is and how bad its image has become in front of the people," said Lekhi.

Earlier today, Nirupam said that had Modi been a Congress candidate he would have lost in the Lok Sabha elections.

Talking about Congress' defeat he added that "apart from inflation and corruption there were many reasons such as pending bills or delay in work due to which the people of India had already made up their mind as to not let Congress win this time."

But at the same time he also said that "things would improve in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and this hatred for Congress party will not remain forever.
