North and South Korea agree to resume high-level talks

North and South Korea have reportedly agreed to resume formal high-level talks that had been put on hold since February.

The agreement was reached during s surprise visit by North Korean officials to South Korea for the closing ceremony of the Asian Games, reported the BBC.

Two top-ranking officials, who are considered close aides to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, led the visit to South Korea.

Both sides have agreed to meet again within a few weeks, the report said.
