Now, shape-up by shaking your tail like a mermaid

An American mermaid school, Montreal Mermaid School has launched their new fitness program called AquaMermaid, which will allow people to slip in a monofin, and shake it like a mermaid.

The Quebec, Canada based mermaid school operates the programme under two names of different languages like Aqua Mermaid for English speakers and Aqua Sirene in French, which provides a monofin to the customers during the workout and a colorful sleeve that wraps around the lower half of the body, ABC News reported.

Marielle Chartier Henault, the founder of the school said that it was when she had been doing some modeling and a friend asked her to do an underwater photo shoot wearing a mermaid tail, when people kept stopping by the pool, laughing and smiling, and she felt like it was such a happy environment, and then she got inspired by the idea of launching her own business offering as part of a fitness program.

The 24-year-old founder added that people thought that it was a very easy task to move around after wearing a monofin, but once they put the tail on they realized that for easy movement one need to know how to swim, as it involves a lot of core work and understanding of weight movement of the body by using the butterfly technique.
