President Barack Obama had seriously considered replacing Joe Biden with Hillary Clinton for being the Vice President in 2012 elections, a forthcoming book on elections revealed.
The forthcoming 2012 campaign book from journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, titled "Double Down," claimed that the Obama team conducted focus groups and polling in late 2011 to determine whether a switch would give them a political advantage, CBS News reports.
However, they ultimately concluded it was not worth the move, the report added.
Obama's then-chief of staff, William Daley, was quoted as saying that Obama was in a difficult situation at that time and he admitted to pushing the idea of the swap.
The book further tells that the relationship between Biden and Obama worsened over the course of the campaign, as Biden attempted to enhance his own political future during the campaign trips designed to benefit the president.
