National Conference leader Mustafa Kamal on Friday said Pakistan's move to meet separatist leaders ahead of the NSA-level talks should not be given undue importance as they would not be present during the discussions.

"The fact is when the two countries meet face to face they will discuss what they have to discuss. Hurriyat is not on that table," he told ANI here.

Kamal expressed confidence that both nations would take into consideration the proclivities or sensitivities of the people living in the two countries.

"And also in the back of their mind keep this very important feature of Indo-Pak hostilities and animosity is the unresolved problem of Jammu and Kashmir keeping in view its historic background,| he added.

The National Conference leader pointed out that it was decided between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif that the talks must continue.

"But so far I think the storm has been unleashed by the opponents of peace between India and Pakistan or enemies of peace between India and Pakistan seem to have been effectively kept in base so far,| he said.

Making its stand very clear, India today asked Pakistan not to go ahead with the meeting of its National Security Advisor (NSA) Sartaz Aziz with Hurriyat representatives when he comes to hold the talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

India said such a meeting would not be in keeping with the spirit and intent of the understanding reached at UFA, Russia, to jointly work to combat terrorism.
