Oust Nitish regime for change in Bihar: Rabri Devi

Highlighting the rising cases of atrocities against the feminine gender and the rise in abduction cases, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Wednesday launched a frontal attack on the Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal-United (JD-U) Government in the state, and urged the people to overthrow the 'corrupt' from power.

"The entire people of Bihar is our family, the family of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)," Rabri Devi said, while urging the voters of Bihar to overthrow the Nitish Kumar Government from Bihar for the prosperity and well-being of the state.

"There is a need to bring a change in Bihar," she added, while highlighting that there is loot and corruption in the state under the rule of the Nitish Government.

Rabri Devi, who is the wife of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, said that people of Bihar are devoid of the basic facilities of electricity and water.

"Schools are closed for teachers not getting appointed. The youngsters are jobless in Bihar," she added.

Rabri Devi further alleged that the Bihar Chief Minister's recently held 'Adhikar Rally' was a political gimmick.

The former Bihar Chief Minister, who was addressing her supporters gathered at the Gandhi Maidan here for the RJD's 'parivartan' rally, also lauded them for turning out in large numbers despite the scorching heat of the sun.

A sea of green and white greeted RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, members of his family and other RJD leaders, as his grand 'parivartan rally' (rally for change or transformation) began at the Gandhi Maidan here this afternoon.

The venue has been swelling with crowd since morning. RJD workers, holding party flags and chanting slogans, have converged to the huge ground from all parts of the state and also from neighbouring Jharkhand. The venue is dotted with RJD posters and flags, each hailing party chief Lalu.

Though the rally is aimed at ushering change in Bihar, Lalu's rivals claimed that it is being held to install his two sons, Tejpratap and Tejasvi, as his political heirs and in positions of prominence in the RJD.

The lantern is the RJD's political symbol.

The rally, being held at the Gandhi Maidan here, is the first of its kind by RJD after 2005 when it lost power to NDA in the state.

Lalu had travelled across the state asking people to join the rally, which has sparked political mudslinging between RJD and the ruling NDA.
