Michael Owen has stuck the boot into Arsenal's Premier League title credentials and claims record signing Mesut Ozil is too inconsistent to lead the Gunners to glory, according to reports.
According to Metro.co.uk, Arsenal currently sit two points clear at the top of the table with a difficult festive fixture list ahead, and the former Liverpool and Manchester United striker believes the Gunners are enjoying a false dawn under the 42 million-pound German.
Owen said that Arsenal do not have the class of a player to go toe to toe with the main title contenders.
He added that despite people constantly telling him that Ozil is world class, his inconsistency means that people only see occasional glimpses of real quality.
However, Owen has backed one of his former clubs, Liverpool to end the season in glory, and even predicts a spending spree at Anfield come the new year, the report said.
