Ozzy Osbourne, who is making the headlines for his separation from his wife Sharon Osbourne, recently grabbed the spotlight again when Birmingham got a tram named after him.

After keeping a low profile since the news of his split-drama broke earlier this month, the 67-year-old rocker attended a launch ceremony on May 26 in the town, where he grew up and formed the heavy metal icon 'Black Sabbath,' reports Channel 24.

Large crowds turned out to welcome the Birmingham-born singer, who was seen still wearing his wedding band at the ceremony in the centre of the city.

Workers peered from office windows to get a glimpse of the 'Prince of Darkness,' while fans chanted "Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy! Oi Oi Oi!"

Osbourne said he had an "incredible journey" from Birmingham to fame as a rocker and a reality-TV star.

Mentioning that he will never forget his Birmingham roots, the 'Crazy Train' hit-maker said, "Once a Brummie, always a Brummie.
