At least ten people have been injured in a suicide blast targeting Pakistan's Mardan Excise and Taxation Department on Tuesday.
The explosion took place following a sound of gunfire coming from within the building, police officials said, reports Dawn.
While the injured have been rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Mardan, the rescue teams have reached the explosion site to take control of the situation.
District Police Office (DPO) Faisal Shahzad confirmed that at least 10 people were injured and more casualties are feared.
Meanwhile, emergency has been imposed in the area.
The Excise and Taxation Department is located in Mardan's Cantonment Area on Mall Road, which is a busy location.
A similar blast last year hit the National Database and Registration Authority office in the city, killing at least 26 people and injuring 50 others.
