Pakistan has been given a boost ahead of the two-Test series against South Africa with an emphatic win over hosts United Arab Emirates in their two-day match on Thursday.
The victory was boosted by Pakistani bowlers, who were in their element, with tall paceman Mohammad Irfan (4-28), combining with spinners Saeed Ajmal (3-20) and Zulfiqar Babar (3-44) to dismiss UAE for 190 to win by 127 runs.
According to Sport24, Irfan, the tallest cricketer ever to play cricket at 7ft 1in, removed the UAE top order with some hostile pace at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, following which off-spinner Ajmal then combined with left-armer Babar to ease Pakistan on their way to victory.
For UAE, Shaimon Anwar top-scored with a fighting 86 while skipper Khurram Khan made 24.
Pakistan had made 317-9 in their innings, the report added.
