Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former cricketer Imran Khan has said that the Nawaz Sharif-led government's decision to quit the United States-led war against terrorism is just a beginning in moving towards a national counter-terrorsim policy.
In a statement issued following the All Parties Conference (APC) held here, Khan described the resolution as a justification of the PTI's suggested policy that peace should be given a chance.
The Daily Times reports that Imran had met with Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to express his demand for a more holistic policy against terrorism in the national interest.
He further said that the drone issue should be taken up in the United Nations Security Council as one of many policy options to counter illegal U.S. action on Pakistani soil.
