Pakistan's National Assembly today rejected the demands by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek(PAT) parties, who have called for the resignation of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

According to reports, the assembly also deplored the "extremely derogatory, defamatory and inflammatory language" used by the parties in their speeches, while referring to Sharif and the members of the national assembly.

The assembly further urged the PTI and PAT members to hold dialogues within the constitutional framework

Meanwhile, Sharif reportedly told senior journalists that all the political parties in Pakistan, save one, had given their support to his party and the democratic process.

PTI and PAT have held Sharif responsible for the killing of 14 people in Lahore's Model Town in June.
