The Pakistan federal government has reportedly given a go ahead for 'preemptive strikes' on hide-outs of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants and their affiliates.
The Pakistan government has come up with a new plan to tackle the militant group, under which, along with carrying out 'punitive strikes', the army will act against militants without delay, following confirmation of terrorist attacks by intelligence sources.
According to the Express Tribune, an official, who requested not to be named because of the sensitivity of the issue said that the civil and military leadership have now decided that the 'state will not tolerate' any more violence from the TTP or any other group.
He further said that the monopoly over the use of force was with the state and there will be no compromise on the country's security, adding that the military would now hit back if militants do not halt their terrorist activities.
Meanwhile, it is also reported that if the TTP refuses to announce unconditional ceasefire, the Pakistan government forces will launch an all-out offensive against the outfit by the end of March or in April.
