He greeted all those who attended the party on the religious occasion and hoped all issues pertaining to the neighbouring nations would end in the months following the holy period of Ramadan.
"As you all know, the holy month of Ramzan is very auspicious. In this month, we pray for forgiveness and prosperity to Allah. This get together is also being held on the same lines. I specially thank those people, who have come from outside New Delhi and other parts of India, especially those from Kashmir-I am very grateful to them for taking the pains to come and join us in this happy occasion," he said.

When asked about the border issues pertaining to the two nations, Basit said both the nations are beginning to do their best and cooperative and encouraging talks are going on between them.
"In the meeting, the issues concerning India and Pakistan were discussed. A good start it is, we met in Delhi. I can hope that positive results will come out of this beginning. A process has started and I wish the process ends in both nation joining hands," he said.
