Piers Morgan has slammed America's gun laws during the final episode of his CNN show 'Piers Morgan Live'.
The 49-year-old journalist said that he thinks guns belong - on a military battlefield in the hands of highly-trained men and women fighting for democracy and freedom not in the hands of civilians, the Daily Star reported.
He said that the scourge of gun violence is a disease that now affects every aspect of American life and on average, 35 people in this country are murdered with guns, another 50 kill themselves and 200 more are shot but survive each day.
Morgan also accused American politicians of being pressured into "cowardly supine silence" by the powerful National Rifle Association (NRA) even while young children are being "blown away in their classrooms".
