64 officer trainees of the 2014 and 2015 batches of the Indian Foreign Service called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
Sharing his thoughts, Prime Minister Modi encouraged the young officers to work towards fostering closer relations between India and the outside world.
He also asked them to develop deeper understanding of the country of their posting, to link the Indian states with the outside world in the spirit of cooperative federalism and to promote greater people to people and cultural contacts.
Prime Minister Modi also asked the young officers to strengthen trade, investments and technology ties and according greater attention to secure the interests and look after the welfare of the Indians abroad.
