Hailing the bilateral relations of India and Singapore Prime Minister Narendra Modi called them to be "warmest and closest".
While addressing the community-cum-business event named 'Anushasan' on Thursday at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore Prime Minister Modi called the indo-Singaporean relations as "a natural partnership with a shared vision".
While highlighting India's role in developing the Association of South Asian (ASEAN) Region Prime Minister Modi further said, "Singapore became a partner and bridge between India and ASEAN".
He further noted that bilateral defense relations of two countries are strongest and the political contacts are with "no contests, irritants, or doubts".
Earlier while addressing the Indian Diaspora living in Singapore Prime Minister Modi said, "The course of India's centuries-old Silk route also ran through Singapore. The human link is deep and enduring, which lives in the Singaporean Indians."
He added that irrespective of some who came in Singapore as a result of globalisation and circumstances of history, "You have become part of Singapore's unique fabric and its progress. You represent the diversity of India."
Prime Minister Modi is further scheduled to attend a roundtable conference with the Chief Executive Officers over a dinner event at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre itself.
