Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated ace tennis player Sania Mirza for winning Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals title.

"Congratulations to Sania Mirza for the victory in WTA finals. This is yet another proud accomplishment," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

Sania Mirza and her Zimbabwean partner Cara Black defeated their opponents Hsieh Su-wei of Chinese Taipei and Peng Shuai of China 6-1, 6-0 on Sunday.

Mirza and Black, who are playing their last tournament together, dominated the match all along, defeating defending champions Su-wei and Shuai in a match that lasted a little over an hour.
