Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in wake of the massive earthquake that shook Nepal and Northern India.
The official twitter account of the Prime Minister's Office shared the information.
"In the wake of the Earthquake, PM has spoken to Sikkim CM Shri Pawan Chamling," it posted.
"PM @narendramodi has spoken to Bihar CM Shri @NitishKumarJDU ji in connection with the Earthquake," it added.
The PMO also stated that Prime Minister Modi is trying to reach his Nepali counterpart Sushil Koirala.
"PM is trying to reach Nepal PM Shri Sushil Koirala, who is abroad. He has spoken to President of Nepal Shri Ram Baran Yadav," it stated.
According to reports, the epicentre of the tremors was said to be in Pokhra, Nepal, with the European Mediterranean Seismological Center stating that the earthquake measured 7.4 on the Richter scale.
