Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a fresh attack on Rahul Gandhi led-Congress party for not paying tribute to the policemen who sacrificed their lives while in power for decades by failing to construct the long pending police memorial.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated a memorial and a museum dedicated to the police of the country in here today. Around 35,000 police personnel martyred in the line of duty since Independence, most of them unsung, will get their names etched in stone for posterity.
While speaking at the National Police Day, the Prime Minister said, "Today I am proud of the National Police Memorial, but there are some questions too. After all, why did this memorial took 70 years since independence to come into existence? I believe that due some reasons this work was stopped for few years, but if the previous government had a desire, if they had tried diligently, then the memorial would have been built many years ago. But the earlier government had set up dust on the stone laid by Advani ji."
The Prime Minister further paid respect to the police personnel and officers of paramilitary forces who sacrificed their lives for the nation and said, " I bow to the families of the policemen who sacrificed their lives for the security of the country. It is my good fortune that I had the opportunity to dedicate the nation the National Police Memorial which is a symbol of the Amar Saga of nation's service and dedication."
Prime Minister Modi also paid tribute to ten valiant policemen who sacrificed their lives, in an ambush laid by heavily armed Chinese troops, while defending the integrity of our motherland at Hot Springs (Parakh). Chinese troops had violated Indian territory in Akshay Chin on October 21, 1959.
