A policeman was shot dead last night by suspected militants inside his house in Hassanpora village of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam District.
"Rafiq Ahmad Mir, a policeman, was shot by unidentified militants inside his house in Hassanpora village of the district," said a relative of the victim.
"We are completely clueless as to why was he shot," he added.
Mir was rushed to hospital by locals, where doctors declared him brought dead.
No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the killing.
The area has been put on high alert.
