Hundreds of students, teachers and non-teaching staff from Pondicherry University are holding protest to demand the resignation of the university's vice chancellor, Chandra Krishnamurthy.
They have claimed that the chancellor submitted a fake CV and has been administering the institution poorly.
Protesters have also accused the Ministry of Human Resource Development of turning a blind eye to the allegations against the vice chancellor.
Last week, 15 students were injured after police lathicharged the protesters in an attempt to disperse them.
Offices and classes have been suspended at the university since July 27, when the protests began.
