Pope Francis has warned his Catholic Church congregation that gossiping is similar to murder, and appealed to them to control their tongues.

At a Mass in Rome's Santa Marta church, the Pope said: "Where there is God, there is no hate, envy or jealousy. Nor are there those who want to kill with gossip," the Washington Times reports.

Earlier also, the Pope has warned his flock about the evils of gossiping in previous sermons.
