Pro Kabaddi League: Pirates thrash Bulls 38-23 to move to second spot

Patna Pirates ended a two-match losing streak to defeat Bengaluru Bulls 38-23 in the fourth season of the Pro Kabaddi League here at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday.

Rajesh Mondal had a stellar game and scored nine points and was ably supported by Surjeet Singh as Patna Pirates inflicted a heavy defeat on Bengaluru Bulls. The Bulls are yet to win at home in this season.

Patna Pirates moved to the second spot with 31 points from eight games. Bengaluru Bulls' hopes for qualifying for semi finals were dealt a severe blow as they crashed to their fifth successive defeat and have 21 points from 10 games.

Rohit Kumar scored the first point for Bengaluru Bulls in the first minute whereas Patna opened their account with a bonus point. Surjeet Singh scored two raid points in the fourth minute as the game was level at 3-3. Bengaluru Bulls forced a super tackle in the eighth minute as they led 7-5.

Pardeep Narwal struggled to score a single raid point as Bengaluru Bulls defence had a game plan for him.

Rajesh Mondal scored with two do-or- die raids as Patna Pirates led 8-7 after 12 minutes. They inflicted an all out in the next minute to lead 11-8. Rajesh Mondal scored four raid points for Patna Pirates in the first half as they led 16-11 at the end of the first half. Pardeep Narwal surprisingly failed to get on the scoreboard in the first half for Patna Pirates.

Mondal scored with a two-point raid in the 24th minute as Patna Pirates led 18-12. Another all out was inflicted on Bengaluru Bulls in 25th minute as they led 22-12.

Mondal continued his scoring streak as he got another two points in 31st minute as Patna Pirates opened a 12-point lead.

Bengaluru Bulls forced a super tackle in 32nd minute as they trailed 17-28.

Patna Pirates inflicted the third all out in 33rd minute as they led 33-17. Bengaluru Bulls tried to make a comeback and cut the lead to 14 points but it was too little. It was a testament to Patna Pirates' talent as they won the game comfortably even with their star man Pardeep Narwal having no impact on the game. Patna Pirates defenders scored 17 tackle points as they dominated the game and won 38-23.
