A huge protest was held here on Thursday over the series of attacks on churches in the national capital. Shouting slogans for justice, agitators demanded immediate action against those responsible for the attacks.

"Since December, our churches are being attacked, and this is injustice towards us. Our churches are being desecrated. There is so much violence against us and the administration and police is not taking any action," said Gary, a protester.

The spokesperson for the Delhi Catholic Archdiocese, Savarimuthu, said it was the job of the police to find out who is behind the attacks. He also condemned the detainment of some of the agitators by the police.

"All we are asking for is proper security and safety. All the five churches are not small, it's all in main churches and in main areas. We are asking the police to find out who is behind these attacks. We have gone to everyone, but nobody is hearing us," Savarimuthu told ANI.

St. Alphonsa's Church in Vasant Kunj was the latest church attacked in the capital on Monday.

Following the attack, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued notices to the Secretary, Union Home Ministry, Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi and the Commissioner of Police, Delhi calling for detailed reports including the status of investigation into allegations of desecration of the sanctity of the St. Alphonsa's Church.
