Qatar's Prime Minister Sheik Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani has reportedly purchased a house in Manhattan near the United Nations Headquarters for a whopping 35 million dollars.
The five story, six bedroom palatial townhouse is located at 21 Beekman Place, will not be used by the PM for his own family but for his country's UN delegation, the New York Post reports.
According to the report, the PM had earlier purchased real estate tycoon Aby Rosen's East 71st Street party mansion for 47 million dollars but left it, as it didn't have enough privacy or security for his wives, children and security.
The PM is said to have a 200 billion dollars investment portfolio in the city, including numerous real-estate holdings, has paid 15 million dollars less than the price asked initially for the house, the report added.
