Union of Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday applauded the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP), adding that this is the first time that his party has been instrumental in forming the government in J-K.
I believe whatever problems the J-K people are facing, this government will be able to solve them," said Rajnath Singh.
He added that the two political parties have formed a government in J-K based on the Common Minimum Program.
Singh however refused to react on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's controversial statement regarding separatists 'allowing' the J-K assembly elections to take place peacefully.
"I don't want to give any reaction on his statement," said Rajnath Singh.
Earlier in the day, Sayeed stoked a controversy by stating that the Hurriyat, Pakistan and militants had allowed a conducive atmosphere for the recently held assembly polls in the state.
