Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has reviewed the status of the establishment of the Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) in New Delhi.
An official release said that the layout plan of the institute was approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs in January 2015. It said, a No Objection Certificate of local authorities has also been obtained, except from the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
The ministry said that as per the Forest Department, out of 54 acres land allotted to the CAPFIMS, 16 acres falls under the geo-morphological ridge area, where construction is prohibited. Hence, the layout plan is being revised.
In October, 2013, the government had approved the establishment of the CAPFIMS comprising of a 500-bed General Hospital, a 300-bed Super Specialty Hospital, a Nursing College and a School of Paramedics at an estimated cost of over 1368 crore rupees in the Maidangarhi area of New Delhi.
