Captain Ritu Rani produced a scintillating performance to help Indian eves claim a 9-1 victory over Malaysia in their fourth Pool A match of the seventh Asia Junior Hockey Cup tournament at Changzhou on Thursday.
With this win, India have now entered the semifinals of the tournament.
In the quarterfinals against Malaysia, Rani scored three brilliant goals , while striker Jaspreet Kaur scored a brace.
Midfielder Preeti Dubey, Navneet Kaur, Punam Barla and Deep Grace Ekka shared four goals among themselves.
Saiuti Norfaiezah Mohd was the lone scorer for Malaysia who scored one goal for his side in 32nd minute.
Earlier, India suffered a shocking 2-4 defeat to the hosts China on Wednesday, after clinching victories against Korea and Singapore in its first two matches.
