The first official reunion of Aides-de-camp (ADC) to President Pranab Mukherjee was hosted at Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday.
These aides gathered not just from across the country, but from various countries like U.S., Australia, UK, Egypt and UAE.
Speaking on the occasion, Mukherjee said he considers ADCs to be not only constant companions of the President, but also the most valued colleagues of the Head of State.
He stated that each one of the ADCs present was associated with his eminent predecessors.
He urged them to always bear in mind that they were never guests, but inmates of this House, each and every part of which is associated not only with imperial history, but the history of our country, its people and its future.
This reunion was attended by ADCs past and present representing the time of all the Presidencies since independence. Rear Adm. (Retd.) Kirpal Singh ADC to C. Rajagopalachari and Air Marshal (Retd) M. M. Sinha ADC to Dr. Rajendra Prasad were amongst the oldest former ADCs attending. Lt. Gen. Rameshwar Yadav, D. G. Infantry and Lt. Gen. S. K. Gadeock, Commandant Staff College Wellington, were the senior most serving former ADCs.
