Days after American market research firm Slice Intelligence pegged the number of pre-orders for Apple Watch in the U.S. on launch day at one million, another research firm has claimed that the much-awaited wearable device has clocked in global pre-orders of over 2.3 million units.

The latest figures come from Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with a strong a track record, reported The Verge.

If either Kuo or Slice's estimates are accurate, then Apple has already established itself as the biggest player in the smartwatch industry.
