Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick as Real Madrid defeated 10-man Bayern Munich 4-2 after extra time in Tuesday's thrilling quarter-final second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu to reach Champions League semi-finals.
The holders surged through 6-3 on aggregate to take their place in Friday's semi-final draw for a record seventh consecutive year.
After a goalless first half, Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for Bayern from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute of the game, reports goal.com.
However, Ronaldo scored the equaliser in the 76th minute before Bayern responded just 36 seconds later as Sergio Ramos' own goal forced extra time. However, the Portugal captain illegally fired to make it 2-2.
Ronaldo then scored the third, which was his 100th Champions League goal from what was clearly an offside position and Marco Asensio added a fourth to seal the win for the holders.
