Unseasoned all-rounder Akshar Patel has been brought in place of injured Ravindra Jadeja in India's squad for the remaining two Test matches in Australia.

The Indian cricket board stated that Jadeja had a shoulder injury and would return home to undergo a rehabilitation programme, Sport24 reported.

However, it still remained unclear whether Jadeja would be available for the World Cup that kick starts on February 14.

Currently, India trails Australia 0-2 in the four match Test series. The third Test match starts in Melbourne on December 26 and the fourth will be played in Sydney from January 6.
