Setting aside the traditional method of celebrating the Bakra Eid, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Muslim Wing on Tuesday celebrated the auspicious festival by cutting a cake to promote the message of brotherhood.
"No Bakra Goat 2016" was written on the cake.
"We are giving up the traditional norm and doing this to spread a message of brotherhood. Muslim Rashtriya Munch has given this cake a form of goat. As people celebrate their birthday by cutting a cake, we are also celebrating our festival by cutting the cake. We have taken this step let's see what will happen it can be an inspiration for others," said one of its members.
Special prayers were held in Mosques and Eidgahs across the nation today. In Delhi, the main Eid congregation was held at Jama Masjid, Fatehpuri mosque and Shahi Eidgah.
