Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban claimed victory on Sunday in the country's parliamentary election, according to CNN.

According to the country's National Election Office, Orban and his party Fidesz had taken an early lead in the vote tally after the counting of 69 per cent of the votes.

Following Fidesz is the right-wing opposition party Jobbik, which has been polled 20 percent of the votes so far.

Orban, who is already Hungary's longest-serving leader since the fall of communism in 1989, is seeking his fourth term with the re-election.
