Serena Williams advances to Rogers Cup semifinals
World Number one Serena Williams defeated her opponent Roberta Vinci of Italy to advance to the Rogers cup semifinals in Montreal .
Top-seeded Williams claimed a clinical 6-4 6-3 win to progress to the next round. Williams had earlier won Toronto titles in 2001, 2011 and 2013.
The 21-time Grand Slam champion will next face Swiss teenager Belinda Bencic , who claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Sebia's Ana Ivanovic, for the final berth.
