Defending champion Saina Nehwal has entered the women's singles semi-finals of the World Badminton Championship being held in Jakarta, Indonesia, by defeating her Chinese opponent Yihan Wang on Friday.
The world number two beat sixth seed Wang 21-15, 19-21, 21-19 in the quarter-finals to advance to the next round.
Meanwhile, 11th seed P.V Sindhu suffered a 17-21, 21-19, 16-21 defeat against her Japanese opponent Sung Ji Hyun in the quarterfinals.

Indian doubles duo of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa also bowed out of the competition after a 23-25, 14-21 defeat against the unseeded Japanese pair of Naoko Fukuman and Kurumi Yonao in their women's doubles event.
Second seed Nehwal, will square off against Indonesia's Lindaweni Fanetri for securing a final berth.
