Amid the ongoing parleys over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav on Wednesday said the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the National Conference and the Congress should join hands to give the state a stable government.
"I had been appealing since the beginning that (the three parties) whether it's PDP, NC or the Congress, they should together form the government for the interest of the country.....I am also in touch with all," he said.
Yadav asserted that the BJP's claims of forming the government in the state will disturb the stable environment in the state.
"The BJP is making claims (over government formation) there..... They (the three parties) have got the support of the people," he added.
Earlier in the day, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti met Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on government formation in the state.
The assembly elections threw up a hung verdict with the PDP emerging as the single-largest party with 28 seats in the 87-member house. The BJP emerged as the second-largest party with 25 seats followed by National Conference at 15. The Congress managed to win only 12 seats.
