Silverstone circuit new managing director, Patrick Allen, has backed Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel to push reigning champion Lewis Hamilton harder in order to make the racing sport more exciting and competitive in the forthcoming races ahead of July's British Grand Prix.
Mercedes driver Hamilton maintained his dominance on the track this season too as the Briton has won three of the four races so far. Vettel, meanwhile, clinched the other victory in Malaysia.
Allen said that his only concern was that if the Briton wins everything by a country mile between now and July, then it would become a procession, and would eventually damage the sport, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Maintaining that the dominance by a single player could hamper the fans' interest in the game, Allen said that it would be great if Vettel could stir things up a bit.
Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari are the only teams to have won races since 2013, with the former winning 16 of 19 last season.
