After doing a bunch of US produced films and earning serious amount of money at the American Box-Office, Sir Patrick Stewart now wants to be 'US Citizen.'

The reason behind this is just to fight President Donald Trump.

The 76 year-old, in a recent interview with The View, shared that he wants to "fight, fight, oppose, oppose," reports CNN.

"You know, we have our own problems. We have Brexit. But I'm not a (US) citizen. However, there is, maybe it's the only good thing as the result of this election, I am now applying for citizenship. Because I want to be an American, too," he said.

The 'X-Men' star added, "Because all of my friends in Washington said there's only one thing you can do: fight, fight, oppose, oppose. But I can't do it because I'm not a citizen."

The response came when the actor was quizzed about the tweet he wrote last month, which read, he had the worst sleep of his life as he was sleeping less than 300 yards away from where Donald Trump sleeps.

Few days back, television mogul Oprah Winfrey also cited that she might join the presidential run during the 2020, courtesy the recent events occurring in USA.

On the professional front, Stewart is seen in the recently released movie 'Logan,' portraying Charles Xavier, alongside Hugh Jackman.
