Speaking at a press conference here today, Badal further alleged that Sonia and Rahul were aware of the conspiracy. Holding the Gandhi family and the Congress party solely responsible for the Sikh killings, he alleged that the "massacre" was planned at the behest of the Gandhi family.

Badal alleged, "What SIT did in one year, was not done in 34 years during the Congress rule. SIT not only fast tracked the case, it helped in pronouncing the verdict. There should be lie detector test on Sonia as well as Rahul since the plot was hatched in their knowledge, in their house, and at their behest."

Union Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal was also present at the press meet. Alleging that the Sikh carnage was planned and executed by the Congress, she said that the perpetrators of the genocide were made ministers later and given Z-plus security cover by the Congress regime.

"No justice came for 34 years as the Congress threatened the witnesses, wiped out the evidence, and did everything to save the neck of its leaders who were involved in it. It (Congress) did everything to close the cases. The perpetrators were made ministers and were given Z-plus security cover by Congress," said Harsimrat Kaur.

She too voiced the sentiments of the SAD president by alleging that it was at the behest of the Gandhi family that thousands of Sikhs were massacred and the family even dictated the Congressmen to plan the massacre.

Both, Badal and Harsimrat Kaur, demanded that all cases related to the 1984 riots should be clubbed together and special tribunal should be formed for disposing the cases within six months.

Harsimrat Kaur thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forming a SIT in 2015 following which trial and conviction have taken place.
