Australian skipper Steve Smith has admitted that he will seek an explanation from match referee Chris Broad over a Decision Review System (DRS) failure during his side's 177-run victory in the second Test of the three-match series against West Indies in Melbourne on Tuesday.
Smith had demanded a third umpire review on a Peter Siddle's delivery that hit captain Jason Holder's pads, but umpire Marais Erasmus informed that the ball-tracking system had failed.
Smith said his side had made few inquiries, insisting that it was not ideal that the DRS system had stopped working.
Meanwhile, West Indies skipper Jason Holder described the incident as 'quite surprising', adding that it was extremely unfortunate that the technology stopped working at that stage.
With today's win, the hosts have also secured an unassailable 2-0 series win and extended their unbeaten run in Test series against West Indies to 23 years.
Australia, which had won the opening match by an innings and 212-run in Hobart, will now play the third and the final Test in Sydney, starting from January 3.
