Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has urged his side not to take Premier League strugglers Sunderland lightly, but said that his side will be well prepared for the challenge.

The 48-year-old German said that he was expecting Sunderland to bounce back following their humiliating 1-4 defeat against Manchester City in their previous league clash.

"I think Sam Allardyce said after the last game against City, not only about three goals in ten minutes, but talked about what they have to do in their next game as they lost concentration in defence," Klopp was quoted as saying by goal.com.

Speaking on the Liverpool's strategy against Sunderland, Klopp said that his side have to display similar performance as they had shown during his side's 1-0 win over Leicester City.

Klopp further called on his side to focus on winning the upcoming game, rather than focusing on improving their style.

"We had to learn to play like the way we did against Leicester. If you try to improve your style or try to get better in whatever you want to do on the pitch, you cannot do it all together. You cannot say 'let's work on possession play, pressing, counter-pressing'. Sometimes you have to do 'this' and then you say next game we have to do 'this', he added.

Liverpool are currently 10th in the league standings, with just seven wins from eight games which they have played.

They will now lock horns with Sunderland on New Year's Eve.
