Czech tennis stars Radek Stepanek and Tomas Berdych have guided their country to a 2-0 lead in the Davis Cup semifinal matches against Argentina on Friday.
Stepanek beat his Argentinian counterpart Juan Monaco 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, 6-2 in the first single game.
Xinhua reports that Berdych has beat Argentina's Leonard Mayer in the second single game 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Nadal made a perfect transition from hard courts to clay when he defeated Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine 6-0, 6-0, 6-4 to give Spain a notable 2-0 lead in their Davis Cup World Group playoff in Madrid on Friday.
